The act of fasting

Asalam Alaykum readers, today I will be writing about fasting "O you who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon those before you that you may become righteous" Quran, Chapter 2:183. Fasting during the month of Ramadan is compulsory except you are suffering from an illness whether temporary or long term (such as diabetics), travelling for long, elderly (however, the elderly person can feed one person through out the fasting period if he/she is capable of doing so), menstruating, breastfeeding, pregnant.

Fasting  is the act of refraining from food, drinks, sexual relations and evil deeds from dawn to sunset. It takes the 4th position when it comes to the 5 pillars of Islam. Some individuals that are exempted during fasting must pay it back after by fasting for the number of days that they were exempted for. These individuals include the temporary sick, the traveler, the pregnant woman, the nursing woman and the menstruating woman.

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. The month has 29 or 30 days. It depends on the sighting of the crescent moon. The Quran was first revealed to Prophet Muhammed (pbuh) during the month of Ramadan. The Night  of Decree is the holiest Night of the year, it is Night the first revelation of the Holy Quran was sent down  " Indeed, We sent the Quran down during the Night of Decree. And what can make you know what is the Night of Decree? The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months. The angels and the spirit descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter. Peace it is until the emergence of dawn." Quran Chapter 97: 1-5

Laylat al-Qadr also known as the Night of Decree which is one of the last ten days of Ramadan. You are meant to worship Allah (SWT) on the night of those days.

It is good to fast 3 times every month. It is not compulsory. It helps to strengthen you spiritually. You should make sure you wake up to eat before dawn every time you fast

That is all for today, thank you for reading this article. Keep checking out my blog regularly, cheers!

Evil: Lekki Central Mosque

Asalam alaykum There are mosques and there are evil places that call themselves mosques, Lekki central mosque is one of those places such an evil place. The so called chief imam Ridwan Jamiu is also fake. A mosque, they have two floors. I  thought women where suppose to be upstairs and men downstairs. Yet, he allowed women to be entering the part where men enter, seeing women and men walking and passing through the same door. Women praying downstairs with no division between men and women. When I asked him about it, he said it is allowed. How is that allowed. Islam does not encourage the mixing of different sexes. Where ablution is done in the female part is sometimes dirty, when you are suppose to do ablution in a clean place. The toilets there were dirty and they face the qibla. Toilets are not meant to face the qibla according to Islamic law. There is one toilet there that did not face the qibla. A pit latrine, which i find odd why would there be regular toilets and one pit latrine.

Quran 3:56-59

Asalam alaykum "As for those who disbelieve, I will punish them with a severe punishment, in this world and the next, and they will have no helpers.   And as for those who believe and do good works, He will give them their rewards in full. God does not love the unjust.”  This is what We recite to you of the Verses and the Wise Reminder. The likeness of Jesus in God’s sight is that of Adam: He created him from dust, then said to him, “Be,” and he was." Quran 3:56-59 Ma salam.

Quran 3: 60-62

Asalam alaykum "The truth is from your Lord, so do not be of those who doubt. And if anyone disputes with you about him, after the knowledge that has come to you, say, “Come, let us call our children and your children, and our women and your women, and ourselves and yourselves, and let us invoke God’s curse on the liars.”  This is the narrative of truth: there is no god but God. God is the Mighty, the Wise." Quran 3:60-62 Ma salam.
